Pullman Aquatic & Fitness Center: 500 NW Greyhound Way: 509-338-3290 Pullman Senior Center: City Hall, 325 SE Paradise St: 509-338-3307 3 Welcome to another fall season of fun and healthy activities with Pullman Parks & Recreation. First we would like thank everyone who participated in one of our programs this summer as your patronage is always appreciated! Whether it was you or a family member enrolled in a preschool or sports camp, swim lessons, participated in a softball league or attended Reaney Park for an evening of music, or take advantage of the Reaney Pool on a hot day, we hope you had a fantastic summer. A special thank you goes out to Resonate Church for their partnership in off ering Movies in the Park this summer. From making popcorn and snow cones, to setting up a bouncy house, their staff members and volunteers put in countless hours to make it possible for everyone to enjoy a great evening in Reaney Park. It was a great four week series highlighted by an estimated crowd of nearly 800 people who watched The Greatest Showman on July 13. Again, thank you Resonate Church and we look forward to working with you again next year. This fall, there are several events we would like to highlight. First, please join us for the 10th Annual "Care To Share" Fun Run on October 27th. Proceeds from the event provide fi nancial assistance to low income families that will allow all youth to participate in their favorite recreation program. See page 26 for a registration form and more information. During the month of September, the Pullman Aquatic & Fitness Center will celebrate its 18th anniversary, so take advantage of the 20% off sale and purchase or renew an annual membership. Also, September 17-22 is Palouse Bike Week, so we encourage you to get outdoors and ride one of the many local trails. Visit www. PullmanChamber.com for more information. #PalouseBikeWeek, #PedalThePalouse. Plans for renovating the new Recreation Center and City Hall are well underway. We hope to share the vision of what each of the two buildings will look like. Also, your Parks & Recreation staff are busy updating their 5-year plan and will be asking for your assistance. A Needs Assessment Survey will be distributed this fall and we ask for your participation and for you to tell us how you and your family utilizes our services. Tell us what amenities in the parks and recreation system are important to you and help us shape Pullman's future. As always, thank you to everyone for your continued support of the Parks and Recreation Department. Whether your family is involved in one of our many activities or a user of the parks and paths, your support goes a long ways in making Pullman a special community.
