In addition to learning new movements forms, instruction will also focus on deepening your understanding of the principles of Tai Chi and improving the quality of your personal Tai Chi. Participants must complete Tai Chi for Health Levels 1 and 2 before they can join Tai Chi for Health Level 3. Tai Chi Qigong An ancient form of exercise that is part of Chinese Medicine, this class combines Qigong with Tai Chi for body awareness, improved balance and fl exibility. Tai Chi is a martial arts based type of Qigong exercise that is gaining popularity around the world for its health and wellness benefi ts. Tai Chi fundamentals from various styles will be incorporated in this class. This beginner's class is suitable for people of all fi tness levels, as modifi cations will be made based on physical ability. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. Although this six week session is off ered at no charge, thanks to the Generosity Inspires program at Pullman Regional Hospital, we ask that you pay it forward with donation to a non-profi t of your choice or by helping out someone in need. Tai Chi for Health: Level 1 Tai Chi for Health is easy to learn, eff ective and safe. It gently exercises the entire body, increasing fl exibility, muscle strength, and heart/lung activity. The practice of Tai Chi improves posture and balance, increases energy, and integrates the mind and body bringing a sense of well-being. Medical studies have shown that Tai Chi is eff ective in reducing many of the symptoms of arthritis including joint stiff ness and pain. Seated adaptations are off ered for people unable to stand to participate. Participants should wear loose comfortable clothing and flat, comfortable shoes - no flip- flops or bare feet.
