2018 PWB Conference Prompts Guests to Think Big "It's amazing what can happen when you don't put limits on what you think is possible." — Heide Stefanyshyn-Piper, former NASA Astronaut and U.S. Navy Captain (retired) As guests filled the interior of Bellevue's Glendale Country Club on October 4, there was palpable energy in the air, ready to descend upon the eager crowd of almost 100. The day was defined by a series of highlights, including $860 raised for the Professional Women in Building scholarship, awarded each year to enterprising women ready to make a difference in the residential homebuilding industry. Heide Stefanyshyn-Piper took us to the stars as she relayed her voyage into space as a NASA astronaut. Her journey inspired all in attendance to think bigger and realize that with proper training and a do-it-all attitude, even a stroll in space is possible. If Stefanyshyn-Piper shot the audience out of the atmosphere, THE Denise Gabel and her infectious energy kept everyone there. Gabel's focus on embracing change made it clear that we have the power to remove our barriers and grow both personally and professionally in unique and impactful ways. Year after year, the Professional Women in Building Conference teaches us that nothing is out of reach and that empowerment comes from within.
