Consider becoming a Forest Steward at your local park or open space. Our Natural Resources staff provide volunteers with training, tools, and ongoing support. Training includes information about native plant identification, invasive plant identification and removal, native plant installation, and volunteer event coordination. Forest Stewards may work independently, making their own schedule, or lead volunteer events for friends and neighbors. Special Projects, Service Learning & Team Building Do you have a school or business looking for a service opportunity? Working with our partners, EarthCorps and Mountains to Sound Greenway, we can develop an event that will fit your group up to 100 people. Projects include all tools, logistical help, and on-site guidance needed to foster a great sense of team work, community, and care for our forest resources. Learn how you can connect with nature and create healthy forests! Contact the Parks Natural Resources Specialist, Kim Frappier at 206-275-7882 or kim.frappier@mercergov.org.
