GALLERIES Greta Hackett Outdoor Sculpture Gallery Located between 77th Ave SE and 80th Ave SE at Aubrey Davis Park, the Greta Hackett Outdoor Sculpture Gallery enhances the Town Center landscape and enriches Mercer Island's sense of community by bringing art to the public. Greta Hackett, a long-time Mercer Island resident, volunteer, and activist, spearheaded the idea for the sculpture park, which opened in 1995 and was renamed in her honor in 2017 on the 20th anniversary of her passing. Today the gallery features both works in the City's public art collection and sculptures available for sale. Contact the Parks and Recreation office at (206) 275-7609 to learn more about purchasing a sculpture or to add your artwork added to the gallery. Get the "story" about sculptures in the Greta Hackett Outdoor Sculpture Gallery and other public artworks on the Island by downloading STQRY, a mobile platform that allows you to engage with all things arts and culture in your area. Learn more about STQRY at www.mercergov.org/publicart. Mercer Island Gallery Stop by the Mercer Island Community & Event Center at 8236 SE 24th Street to view works by regional visual artists on display at the Mercer Island Gallery. Exhibits at this indoor space are free and open to the public, and new works go on view approximately every six weeks.
