Articulated tug-barges The company has proven itself as an innovator and leader in petroleum and chemical transportation through the development of an unrivaled articulated tug-barge (ATB) fleet, which include 17 of the newest and most sophisticated U.S.-flag vessels. Our ATBs stand out from the competition for their: Hydrodynamically efficient tank barges, which are coupled with high-horsepower tugs, allowing for improved maneuverability and sea-keeping; Double-hull configurations; Ability to carry clean petroleum products and EZ chemicals for maximum cargo flexibility; Compliance with SOLAS criteria for crew safety and the ABS SafeHull program for maximum environmental protection. Tankers Crowley has a long history of owning and operating its own Jones Act product tankers, as well as managing tankers owned by others. Regardless of the vessel or the trade lane, Crowley's mission remains the same – to offer safe and reliable petroleum transportation. In recent years, the company expanded its petroleum and chemical transportation tanker fleet with four new, LNG-ready, U.S.-flag vessels. Crowley Alaska Tankers, LLC In 2018, Crowley expanded services with subsidiary Crowley Alaska Tankers' acquisition of three tankers: the 760,000-barrel California and Washington, serving Alaska and the West Coast, and the 342,000-barrel Oregon, which serves the U.S. Gulf and East Coasts.
