agvision Helping New Ag Producers Grow 5 Northwest Farm Credit Services AgVision® Program AgVision is our nationally recognized program available to young, beginning and small producers. AgVision participants have access to loans with less restrictive underwriting standards at competitive rates and the possibility of reduced or waived fees. In addition, Northwest FCS offers educational conferences and workshops, reimbursement vouchers for technology purchases and more. To qualify, participants must meet at least one of these characteristics: • 35 years of age or younger • 10 years or less agriculture experience as a producer • Less than $350,000 annual gross farm production JumpStart™ Program JumpStart helps AgVision entrepreneurs start promising new ventures in ag. Interest-only JumpStart operating loans (up to $100,000) provide working capital to help entrepreneurs establish their businesses during the early phases of operation. Within five years, JumpStart loan recipients should be positioned to repay the loan and graduate to a more conventional loan. To qualify, an entrepreneur must have at least: • One year of relevant management experience • Operations in the start-up phase • A solid business plan • An independent enterprise not affiliated with another established operation unless the business plan includes transitioning farm assets and full management responsibilities to the entrepreneur RateWise™ Program RateWise rewards AgVision participants who continue their management education with interest rate reductions on new loans and renewed operating loans. Enrolled producers earn credits for participating in educational programs. These programs can be hosted by Northwest FCS' Business Management Center, universities, industry groups and other resources that improve producers' management and produc- tion skills. Participants accumulate RateWise credits beginning on the date of their program registration and interest rate reductions increase with the number of credits earned. • 10 credits: 0.25% interest rate reduction for three years • 20 credits: 0.50% interest rate reduction for three years • 30 credits: 0.75% interest rate reduction for three years All of us in agriculture share a responsibility to launch the next generation of promising producers. Many grew up in agriculture as the sons and daughters of Northwest FCS customers. Others are entering agriculture for the first time. Helping these young and beginning producers start their own business is an integral part of the cooperative mission at Northwest FCS. For more information about these AgVision programs visit northwestfcs.com or contact your local Northwest FCS branch.
