13 Around the same time, the company also announced that it was adding upwards of 3,000 pieces of cargo handling equipment to its robust and diverse fleet. The additional resources allow the company to better meet increasing customer demand throughout Puerto Rico, and other destinations in the Caribbean and Central America. "We are particularly pleased to be able to add to our supply of high-capacity 53-foot containers, which are in great demand in our Puerto Rico liner services," says Hourihan. "These units have a capacity up to 3,268 cubic feet and the capability to carry loads up to 42,660 pounds." More good news for Crowley and Puerto Rico broke less than a month after the company unveiled its Commitment Class plans in 2013: a part of the company's nearly 120,000-square foot warehouse and distribution center was reclassified as a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ). Customer Recognition "TlS and Toyota de Puerto Rico are pleased to help celebrate Crowley's 60 years of service to Puerto Rico. This diamond anniversary also marks three decades of collaboration, which has earned Crowley recognition through numerous Toyota logistics excellence Awards. We are proud to work alongside a company that demonstrates excellent operational performance and customer attention, and we look forward to continuing the partnership for many years to come." - Corinne Akahoshi, national marine and export manager for Toyota Logistics Services (TLS), Inc.
