Improvisation and choreography are encouraged. Flexibility, coordination, strength, grace, and creativity increase in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate atmosphere. Opportunities for creativity and informal performance are provided. Participants are encouraged to wear leotards with tights and ballet shoes. Parents may join the last class to watch and take pictures. We are providing scholarship birthday parties for kids 18 years and under! Upon qualification, your party is on us at the Mercer Island Community & Event Center! Cheryl will connect you with Parks & Recreation staff to book your party at a discounted rate or for FREE! We book one scholarship birthday party per month, first-come, first-served. Limit one party per family, per year. Super Sitters This program is designed to train young people in basic babysitting and home-alone skills. Students completing this course will be better prepared to provide a safer and more positive infant/child care experience. Taught by a hospital- qualified instructor, this class includes parent expectations, basic first aid, home and fire safety, Heimlich maneuver, telephone tips, toys and activities and infant care. Participants receive a Babysitting 101 handbook and a course completion certificate upon completion of the class. Bring a morning snack, sack lunch, and a drink.
