ARTS COUNCIL The mission of the Mercer Island Arts Council is to nurture, promote, and implement high quality arts and cultural activities for the enrichment of the community of Mercer Island. The Mercer Island Arts Council was established in 1985. They meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Mercer Island Community & Event Center. The public is encouraged to attend! New to swing dancing? We've got you covered with an Eastern Swing Dance lesson given by Ari Levitt at 7pm followed by the dance at 8pm. Refreshments will be available for purchase during the evening. Need someone to watch the kids? Check out Parent's Night Out event on page 16. Course #: 16731 Ages: 18+ Day/Date: Sat, Jan 28 Time: 7pm (Dance Lesson) 8pm - 12am (Dance) Fee: $10 Advanced/$20 At Door Location: VFW Clubhouse 1836 72nd Ave SE, Mercer Island GALLERIES I-90 Outdoor Sculpture Gallery The I-90 Sculpture Gallery is located between 77th Ave SE and 80th Ave SE at Aubrey Davis Park. Many of the sculptures are available for sale. For more information on purchasing a sculpture or to have your sculpture added to the gallery, contact the Parks and Recreation office at (206) 275-7609. Indoor Art Gallery The Indoor Art Gallery displays beautiful paintings and art work of regional visual artists at the Mercer Island Community & Event Center located at 8236 SE 24th Street on Mercer Island. The Indoor Gallery is open to the public free of charge and the exhibits are updated approximately every six weeks. The art work is for sale with a percentage of the sales going to support arts and cultural programming of the Mercer Island Arts Council. Upcoming Exhibits Summer Showcase Featuring artists Pamela K.
