Basketball Fundamentals with Coach Marv Johnson, Jr. Mercer Island Parks & Recreation and Coach Marv Johnson, formerly of South Sound Athletics, have partnered to bring Mercer Island youth the opportunity to improve their basketball skills and build the confidence necessary to be a successful basketball player. Each 75-minute session includes training, conditioning, evaluation and will focus on passing, shooting, dribbling and playing without the ball in your hands. Basketball Fundamentals is a step beyond the basics, and will require discipline and intensity. Coach Marv brings with him the knowledge, passion and skills to improve any basketball player at any skill level. Opportunities for creativity and informal performance are provided. Participants are encouraged to wear leotards with tights and ballet shoes.
