FROM THE EDITORS RICHARD AND DOLORES RANHOFER ItIt ha dly see Porsche Parade in Salt Lake City. For those of you who were unable to attend, we have a number of articles written by attendees who generously wanted to share their experiences with the Club. For the most part, this issue is dedicated to the 2012 Salt Lake City Parade. There are Tour Articles, Concours Articles, Autocross Articles, Banquet Articles, Tech and History Articles, and lots and lots of won- derful pictures from Parade. There's also an article written by the PNWR "Mystery Man" Kevin Williams. Don't know Kevin? Of course we have all of our regular columns and additional articles from the members who stayed at home and created their own adventures. September has a number of upcoming events. There's the All Porsche Grand Display at Carillon Point in Kirkland on September 23rd; the Kirkland Concours d' Elegance Le May on September 9th. (Don't confuse this with the All Porsche Grand Display at Carillon Point. They are two different events.) On September 15th, 16th and 17th, there's the Hood River Tour where you will be staying at the famous Columbia Gorge Hotel where it's rumored celebrities such as Rudolph Valentino and Presidents Roosevelt and Coolidge stayed. Imagine how impressed your friends will be when you tell them you stayed in the Coolidge room. This would be like sleeping in the Lincoln Bedroom at the White House. In October there's a Tech Ed event on October 6th; the Two Passes Tour on October 14th; and the social dinner at the Berliner Pub in Renton on October 25th. (See the PNWR web site for details) The Tech Ed event for November is the open house at WWU VRI. The Workers Party is on November 10th September 14th is the date when Board nominations are due and November 14th is the voting deadline for the 2013 Board. If you are interested in one of the Board positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, or the vacant Director at Large position, please email your resume' to Eric Breidenbach at pastpres@ pnwr.org. Be sure to include your name/address, the position you Spiel Submission Guidelines Deadline: 1st of the month preceding the issue. Send high resolution photos via email or on a CD/DVD as jpeg, png attached as .pdf, .txt, .doc or .rtf - no formatting needed. Comments or suggestions for the Spiel are welcome and appreciated. D.Ranhofer@gmail.com Sunday in Seward Park with our Targa-Top September 2012 7 are seeking, and a brief description of your club involvement and qualifications. Résumés are strictly limited to 200 words. Elections criteria are found in Section IX of the PNWR Bylaws under Club Info/ Governance on the PNWR website. Detailed descriptions of the posi- tion duties are also found there. Additionally the Chair Positions for Tours, Social and Tech Ed will all become vacant this year. The Board must approve chair positions. If you find one of these positions interesting, please contact the current chairperson or any Board member with your interest. Any of us would be very happy to talk to you. We're still waiting for our Cayenne Diesel. It's been on the dock in San Diego awaiting the truck that will bring it to Seattle. Remember Otis Redding's song: I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay Watching the tide roll away Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay Wastin' time In the meantime it's perfect Targa weather.
