Free! Mindful Meditation Regular meditation may help reducing stress, facilitating emotional wellbeing and improving mental clarity. If you are looking to pick up or continue the practice of mindful meditation, this group is for you. Everyone is welcome, and no prior experience is needed. We will start with a short reading of Thich Nhat Hanh's teaching, followed by two 20-minutes periods of meditation, and a brief walking meditation in between. About Thich Nhat Hanh (called "Thay" by his students): Thay is a Buddhist monk. His teaching is light, joyful, welcoming, and friendly to people with diff erent religious backgrounds. In 1967, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. nominated Thay for the Nobel Peace Prize. Thay is the author of many books, including Peace Is In Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life, The Miracle of Mindfulness: An Introduction to the Practice of Meditation, and You Are Here: Discovering the Magic of the Present Moment. New! Needle Felting-Sculpting with Wool Needle felting is a fi ber craft in which wool fl eece is sculpted using a special, barbed needle to stab it into place, teasing the fi bers into form. Using a few simple techniques, you can create many diff erent pieces. Including jewelry, toys, beads, d├ęcor, sculptures and more! You can also applique wool onto many types of fabric and clothing. You will be able to bring home materials to continue felting at home. Supplies are provided and included in the fee. Returning students will have supply fee option at registration. Adult Art Night Come scratch your creative itch and explore art with this casual class, meant for the curious beginner or anyone who wants to set aside time for art. As a group, we will choose artists and art topics to investigate, and use a variety of media to create weekly projects. Projects will be simple, emphasizing the process over the fi nished product. Class is fast paced and meets all the First Aid CPR AED standards of OSHA and WISHA. Classes are with an instructor that will maximize the learning potential of adults. Class will include Blood Borne Pathogens. Upon completion, each participant will receive an American Heart Association certifi cation good for two years. Remember class time depends upon the number of students and their understanding. These classes also meet the standards for Adult Daycares and Centers. Upon completion, each participant will receive a Pediatric American Heart Association certifi cation good for two years, which meets requirements for Idaho and Washington childcare providers.
