Bringing Shipyard and Operational Experience on Board Perhaps the biggest differentiator for New Jensen is the streamlined approach the company took when it merged the skills of Jensen with those of Crowley's former vessel management services (VMS) subsidiary. This team, which had been lead and influenced by now-retired former Vice President Ed Schlueter for more than 30 years, was an industry leader for vessel design and construction management services for shipyards and customers across the U.S. Schlueter helped establish Crowley as an innovator and builder of quality equipment to meet the customers' needs. The New Jensen team now continues to offer innovative services at the highest quality, upholding the Crowley reputation. "Combining the talents of Jensen with the decades of construction management and vessel design experience of VMS is an advantage that is sure to leverage huge opportunities in the future," said Jensen's Ray Martus, director, new construction. Martus, who worked for Crowley under Schlueter for nearly five years before transitioning to Jensen, now manages New Jensen's construction management services. "Having been on Ed's team, we like to think that we are continuing his legacy by providing the construction management and vessel design services that he began as a complement to the highly specialized services that Jensen has traditionally provided," Martus continued. "This means that shipyards and customers have more complete services to choose from and we can work end-to-end on projects more efficiently." But shipyard and construction management experience is only part of the story. The combined efforts of Jensen and Crowley also are important for bringing operational experience to vessel design.
