A type of moving meditation, this form of exercise combines slow movement with breathing to enhance your balance, posture and focus. This Taichi Qigong Intensive class will cover fundamentals such as stances and stepping, as well as part of the Yang form. Be prepared to come in daily for one week, dressed in comfortable and loose clothing. We will start off each class with Qigong warm-up and cover the basics of Taichi. Students of all ages 12 and older are welcome to join the class. New participants interested in enrolling in a fitness program are allowed to attend a fitness class one time on a trial basis if the program is not full, participant must sign a release form before participating in class . Please check with Parks & Recreation office staff prior to attending class. Minimum age is 12 yrs old. Optional hand weights are provided for all classes. Class fees will be prorated beginning the third week of class for late enrollment. Guests or one time attendees are welcome at the fitness classes held at the Pioneer Center only for $6 per class, payable in the office prior to attending class. Step & Sculpt Be done before your day's begun by squeezing in your workout at the top of your morning. Simple, low-impact moves combined with a variety of leg and arm lifts combine to give you great results. The step can be adjusted and hand weights are optional to create your best possible workout. You'll notice improved muscle tone as well as improvement to your cardio fi tness by building resistance as you go.
