Swim meets will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons throughout July starting 3:00pm each day with warm-ups and a 4:00pm meet start time. Participants must be able to complete 25 yards of strong and confi dent front crawl and back crawl each. Swimmers must be detached from a nationally recognized competitive program for a minimum of 1 year in order to swim on this team (YMCA, USA swimming, High School teams, etc.) Swimmers are required to participate in three swim meets in order to compete at Clucky Memorial Cup Championships. Usually two meets are held in Pullman and at least one in Colfax. American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding Camp Want to practice your lifeguarding skills? This summer we will be off ering two, two- week courses designed for children aged 11 years of age, or those who have completed the 5th grade through 14 years of age to learn proper lifeguarding techniques. American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding is designed to guide youth to the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course by building a foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills for future lifeguards. Participants are not required to master or perfectly execute skills. They should learn techniques and build stamina during this program. Junior Lifeguarding prepares future lifeguards for their role in obtaining a job as an American Red Cross Lifeguard, at the age of 15. A Lifeguarding Manual is not required, but will be available for purchase. Due to age requirements Junior Lifeguards cannot be certifi ed as professional rescuers, a certifi cate of completion is awarded. A t-shirt is provided in fee. Course Prerequisites: On the fi rst day of the class participants must demonstrate the following skills: Swim front crawl for 25 yards continuingly while breathing to the front or the side. Swim the breaststroke for 25 yards using a pull, breathe, kick and glide sequence. Tread Water for 1 minute using arms and legs. Show a level of comfort on the back by fl oating on the back for 30 seconds or swimming on the back for 25 yards using the elementary backstroke or back crawl. Submerge and swim a distance of 10 feet underwater. 11-14 yrs Min 6/Max 20 M-F ...........Jun 18-29 .................. 8:00-11:30am M-F ...........Jul 9-20 ..................... 8:00-11:30am Resident: $150/N-Resident: $152 Reaney Water Exercise (WEX) Boost your metabolism and build overall fi tness through a combination of shallow and deep water exercises using our fl otation belts and equipment. This WEX class is designed for all fi tness levels. Exercises are led by our AEA instructors and are able to be modifi ed to fi t your individual needs, from range of motion exercise to high intensity!
