5 Northwest Farm Credit Services
If there's a typical "How I Got Started in Agriculture," story,
Karyn Williams' isn't it. Karyn is a product of the Seattle
suburbs, removed from the farm by three generations.
In her first year of college in 1996, she wanted to do
something more fulfilling. An advisor tipped her
off to WWOOF – Willing Workers on Organic
Farms. She applied and took off for Europe to
farm when she was just 19. Karyn worked
on several farms from Portugal to England,
with a little bit of veggies, a goat dairy, a
cow dairy, and a larger vegetable farm.
