JANUARY 2021 26 Dennis Rood CONCOURS CORNER Following is the 7th and last of the articles by Darryl Deppe on the restoration of his 1964 356C, mostly by himself, and the tools and techniques he has used to do it. I really appreciate Darryl taking all the time to document, photograph and deliver these wonderful articles the past 7 months at a time nothing is happening for Concours. I, and I know many of you have really enjoyed these detailed articles and can reference them for things that may come up you would like to do some time in the future. If you used only one or two of the techniques, tools, supplies or vendors that Darryl used it would be well worth it. Let's say you buy a 914 or early non-galvanized 911 and the battery box is shot, just following what Darryl did to remove and repair his with a new one would be worth right there. Thank you again so much Darryl. Starting in February 2021 Mike Piccolo will begin a series of articles on his 356 restoration that he finished hours before the 2017 Parade and was a scintilla off from winning first place in his category. Thanks Mike and we look forward to these. We wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year and we certainly look forward with hope to be able to resume our regular lives and PCA events and see our friends in 2021. I think the new Vaccine for Covid 19 may allow us to do that. Until then, I will be quarantining and staying distanced or masked (or both) in the Concours Corner.
