15 Spiel – September 2021 DENNIS ROOD Concours Committee Chair concours@pnwr.org Dennis has held many positions in PNWR over the past 38 years including President, Tour Chairman, Social Chairman and Currently Concours Chairman for the past 16 years. He loves driving all his Porsches and other hobbies include boating in the San Juan Islands, travel and anything with his family. CONCOURS CORNER P orsche Parade 2021 is over, and hardly anyone from PNWR attended. That's not too hard to understand because it was over two thousand miles away. Of course, Nathan and Suzy Merz attended, and they took second in Group II: Class PP13F-Preparation Full Boxster/ Cayman Model Years 1997-2012 with a score of 243.2, missing first by .4 points. Congratulations to Nathan and Suzy. Nathan will be giving his walk- around, market, and valuation update at the All-Porsche Grand Display at Carillon Point on September 12, 2021. By the time you receive this month's Spiel, the event will have already taken place. Tim and Sue Hagner from our sister region (Zone 6, Inland Northwest Region [INWR]) scored 299 points for second place in the Preparation Full, 911 1999-2012 Group and achieved a Stuttgart award. I did not see any other Zone 6 Concours winners, but I noticed that our own Bud Bohrer won first place in IO10 Improved 1 Open with his trusty 944 and best time of 98.937. Congratulations again, Bud. Also, William and Bobbie Roberts from Zone 6, INWR ran in the Parade Rally, finishing eighth out of eleven in their group. I do not know if you have ever tried this, but it is hard just to finish and not blow check points, etc. We tried it once, so good for them. Inland Northwest Region's Tillie Hammond scored first place in the women's Tech Quiz, and William Roberts from INWR scored third in the men's Tech Quiz. So, there were a few folks there from Zone 6 at least. After missing it in 2020, we are pretty much on track for the 9th All Porsche Grand Display with 65 cars registered at this time. We can take up to 105 total Porsches in the display space. We will have jazz music throughout the day again. We are also ending ½ hour earlier by having awards at 2 p.m. to finish by 2:30 p.m. For those of you who attended, I hope you had a good time and will consider showing your car next year. You can look forward to the results of the awards next month.
