This March we launched our partnership with ANEW to provide members with the RISE Up (Respect, Inclusion, Safety, and Equity in the Construction Trades) program. This eight-class program will take place throughout 2022 and aims to shift the culture in construction to be more inclusive to a diverse and ever-changing workforce. RISE Up provides customizable, best-practice-based training to support employers in reducing and eliminating incidents that jeopardize employee safety due to inappropriate behavior on the worksite. The program was built by an organization that sees both the needs of our industry and the challenges it faces, particularly with the growing concerns around workforce development. RISE Up has a simple goal: provide all workers with the tools and support necessary to create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for everyone. A few unique features of this program are: 1. Pertinent Values: Safety and productivity are key to the program. 2. Small Group Focus: Each class has a cap of 20 people. This means that everyone will have an opportunity to engage and learn in a safe space. 3. Wide Range of Topics: All eight classes are designed to serve different populations. Whether you work in the office, work in the field, or are an executive team member or supervisor, RISE Up has tools and skills for every team member! RISE Up offers technical assistance around diversity, equity, and inclusion in the construction trades from a unique, industry-specific perspective. Topics include leadership and mentorship, third-party reporting services, forming Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committees, measuring DEI within your organization, and creating affinity groups.
