summer 2022 2
During this time of rising inflation and increased living costs for families, we continue our strong support for food
banks in rural communities across the Northwest. And we're not alone. We work with the greatest food producers
in the world who have generous hearts to help those in need.
We are excited to share the story of one rancher whose vision and action led to an incredible mission to end
hunger in Montana. In just two short years, the Producer Partnership of farmers and ranchers has donated more
than 100,000 pounds of free ground beef for Montana families and recently opened a nonprofit meat-processing
facility in Livingston to increase beef processing. Stories like this are a testament to what can be accomplished
when remarkable people work together with a common vision.
Though new challenges arise over time, we continue to grow our cooperative to support your business needs.
Our board and management team are looking to the future and seeking opportunities to further strengthen our
financial foundation, diversity of our portfolio and enhance services and value for our customer-members.
As we shared with you in February, our board is pursuing a merger with Farm Credit West who serves producers
and agribusiness in California, Arizona and Nevada. Like us, Farm Credit West is a successful, financially strong
Farm Credit association and we have partnered for many years to jointly finance customers, serve rural markets
and collaborate in operational areas.
Our two boards have been working through the merger process by conducting due diligence and preparing
disclosures that will be reviewed by our regulator, then sent to stockholders for consideration in the fall. We
are excited to share how we can continue to grow and enhance our Farm Credit associations to serve future
generations in agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
