Since the affiliate's inception in 1989, Rebuilding Together Seattle has restored over 2,500 homes and nonprofit facilities in the greater Seattle area, impacting countless lives in our community and promoting their vision of a safe and healthy home for every person. Today, Rebuilding Together Seattle has three thriving home repair programs: National Rebuilding Month, Team Build, and Safe at Home. This past year, RTS was able to provide 98 families with the repairs they needed to stay safe and warm in their homes. Three hundred sixty volunteers contributed 5,820 hours of work to 104 projects which totaled $253,517 of value provided to our neighbors in need. Kim Brown, a single mother of three boys living in Columbia City, was one of RTS' recipients of much-needed home repairs. After becoming overwhelmed by increased bills, Kim had to prioritize house payments and living expenses over the maintenance of her beloved home. Soon, Kim found herself without a working shower, a clogged kitchen sink, an overgrown backyard, and nonfunctioning windows.
