6 Spiel – September 2022 Doug appreciates the commitment that Porsche makes to their motorsport success and how that technology transfers to the vehicles we all love. Outside of that passion, he enjoys soccer, hiking, and spending time outdoors in the company of others. As we approach the fall season, look for a wide range of events that will start your engines and leave you with a smile. I am pleased to mention that PNWR had its first live, in-person meeting in September at Porsche of Bellevue. As many of you have experienced over the last three years, all our business meetings were held via the Microsoft Teams online video meeting format. It was a welcome sight to see our board members and chairpersons provide their input in person and with smiles on their faces. We return to the Mercer Island Community Center on October 3 for the next live board meeting. Please join us. At our September meeting, we had the opportunity to meet our scholarship winners as chosen by our charity committee, consisting of Eric Breidenbach, David Cook, and John Mueller. The students represented the Shoreline Community College's Automotive Technical program. We have had many highlights during our year; this event meets that criteria. All of us walked away with very favorable impressions of these recipients and their future journeys. All but one was from outside of the USA. Their struggles, stories, and achievements were impressive. We appreciate the committee's work and their selection of these well-deserving students. Our premier "Once in a Lifetime" TechEd event is quickly approaching. If you have not signed up to see Brian Redman on the 29th of October, starting at 9:30 a.m., I encourage you to do so today. John Mueller and his team have worked on this event for over three years. It will be one you do not want to miss. You can go to msreg.com/PNWRRedman to register today. This is a PNWR charity event. PNWR has returned to our full schedule of events. We cannot thank the chairpersons and board members enough for their continued efforts and contributions to our club. I can tell you that they work tirelessly to continue to enhance your experiences with PNWR. As we approach the fall season, look for a wide range of events that will start your engines and leave you with a smile. I look forward to seeing you down the road. Fall is arriving, and so is… Brian Redman!
