Young, military veterans may have just what agriculture needs. Discipline and
determination. Responsibility and adaptability. Leadership and team-building skills.
As the average age of U.S. farmers and ranchers increases, many wonder who will
succeed them and continue their life's work.
How about a military veteran?
We're proud to share these stories from young, farmer
veterans in the Northwest. On their tours in the military,
Rachael, Greg and Ryan acquired skills and experiences ideally
suited for agriculture. We salute them and all military veterans
who are finding new careers producing food and fiber for our
nation and others across the world.
Last summer, Farm Credit invited young veterans from
across the U.S. to Washington, D.C., to tell Congress about
their transitions from military service to careers in agriculture.
Three of these veterans are from the Northwest and we're
proud to support them with financing through AgVision,
our young and beginning producer program.
