Certified teacher Betty Nelson will teach the physical principals of flight such as thrust, drag, lift, acceleration and stability while producing a water powered rocket that will be tested on the last day of camp. Campers will explore simple machines, electricity and gearing theory, then decide which design strategies are best used to complete each challenge. Competitions are held at the conclusion of the camp to test designs. Bring a water bottle and snack to camp. Learn play ideas, infant and toddler care, beginning behavior management, age characteristics, accident prevention, what to do in an emergency, how to work with parents and get ideas for networking to find babysitting jobs. All participants will receive a notebook and certificate of completion. Bring a water bottle, snack and pencil. Instructor: Camp Fire Rotary Ranch at Jennings Park Age: 10-14 .....................................................................Cost: $50 Course #: 9048 M-F Jul 27-31 10:00 AM-12:00 PM HAVOC Disaster Preparedness Camp At HAVOC, students learn and perform preparedness activities, disaster medical skills, basic fire suppression, search and rescue skills and disaster operations. Participants will gain experience with teamwork, leadership, overcoming obstacles and perseverance. Through HAVOC, students will be able to respond to emergency situations, thus providing valuable surge capacity to local first responders when needed.
