A new 900-foot pier to support cargo operations and berth the new liquefied natural gas-powered combination container/Roll On-Roll Off (ConRo) ships. New entrance and exit gates will speed cargo throughput and reduce trucker turn times. Completely reconfigured terminal to allow for stacking of containers and improved efficiencies throughout the terminal. Brand new fleet of container handling equipment to provide safe and efficient cargo movements. Crowley's $550 million investment in the Puerto Rico trade includes major upgrades at the Isla Grande terminal in San Juan, including a new 900-foot pier, three new container gantry cranes, new technology to support reefers and other container usage and a top-end terminal operating system. The improvements will support the next generation Commitment Class ConRo ships that will carry cargo between the mainland and Puerto Rico.
