If that's not enough electoral excitement, the balance of power in the State Senate is at play in the Eastside's 45th Legislative District, a race that will undoubtedly set records for fundraising and independent expenditures. All told, this will be one of the most important election years in recent memory. We must win at the ballot box if we want to win at City Hall. The AHC needs your support to win key races throughout our region to ensure that pro-housing candidates win. Your support matters. Earlier this year, the AHC Board of Directors set an ambitious fundraising goal: raise $125,000 to support pro-housing candidates in local political races. The AHC has launched a new program to recognize individuals and companies who make signifi cant donations. As the last candidates fi led for offi ce, we launched the "Hammer Club," which recognizes substantial donors to the Aff ordable Housing Council's political program at four diff erent levels: AHC members are included in all AHC membership communications, receive invitations to participate in AHC candidate interviews, and qualify for AHC Board of Directors elections. In addition to these opportunities, Hammer Club members are invited to exclusive events throughout the year, are recognized at Master Builders Association events, in Master Builder magazine, and on the AHC webpage. Holly M. Davis joined the Master Builders Association's advocacy team as political aff airs manager. Holly manages the Association's political action committee, the Aff ordable Housing Council, which works to elect pro-housing candidates for state and local offi ce.
