But in order for Jensen to succeed during this move we knew we'd have to make the New Orleans office one that is fully integrated with the Seattle and Jacksonville offices. To have someone like Sergio leading it who already knows both companies as well as he does … he's just the perfect fit. We're looking forward to growing that office and seeing what it brings in the future." Building relationships with the shipyards located in the U.S. Gulf is also a crucial element to Fifi and his team. With a fully developed construction management team in place, backed by the decade load-out DEFINITION: A load-out consists of transferring very heavy equipment, such as modules, spars or jackets, to specialized barges or heavy-lift ships before transporting the cargo to a project site. Jensen has a long history of safely performing load-outs destined for the North Slope of Alaska in support of remote drilling projects. of experience built under Schlueter, Jensen can now bring its technical and operational knowledge directly to the building site. Acting as a liaison between the customer and shipyard, Jensen ensures that the construction is carried out exactly as they planned at the drafting table. For customers this translates into a vessel that is built efficie ntly, and once delivered, operates exactly as promised. The U.S Gulf of Mexico is also a hot spot for heavy-lift energy projects. With more load-outs executed there than in any other location in America, Jensen's New Orleans office provides additional synergies between Jensen and Crowley's Houston- based, Project Management Organization (PMO), solutions, as well as fellow subsidiary, TITAN Salvage. The solutions team bundles Crowley's company-wide capabilities and assets with world-class project management skills to provide complete turnkey marine solutions STORY CONTINUED ON FAR RIGHT JENSEN PRODUCES ONE OF THE LARGEST LONGLINER FISHING VESSELS EVER BUILT Successfully Utilizing Advanced Production Engineering Services to Launch New Vessel Design Unlike exaggerated fish tales that, despite their stretched truths, add so much color to dockside conversations, Alaska Leader Fisheries actually set out to own and operate a larger- than-life longliner fishing vessel. The vessel, which has now been designed to fish for cod in Alaska's challenging Bering Sea, will support the longline fisheries of the North Pacific, Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands. Additionally, the mammoth vessel also had to meet strict new environmental and fishing requirements. Longline fishing is a commercial fishing technique that uses a long line, called the main line, with baited hooks attached at intervals. The job required a naval architecture and marine engineering firm that could not only offer a large, technologically advanced and "green" vessel, but also one that could offer complete design services, including concept designs 14
