BY MAYTAWEE "TY" COLEMAN DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP & COUNCILS MBAKS FREE NETWORKING EVENT MEMBERSHIP COUNCIL LUNCHEON DEC. 4 | 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. JAN. 8 | 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. FEB. 5 | 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. MBAKS Bellevue Eat, learn, and have some fun I n line with our 2019 directives, we have focused on improving our member knowledge and increasing membership value This August, we held the very first Membership Council leadership training, equipping council leaders to effectively manage the councils and program content and to inspire member engagement Membership councils provide real value: a sense of connection and a home in the largest local home builders association in the NAHB federation We would like to see the upward trend in council membership continue, along with program innovations such as the Remodelers Council Speaker Series Our volunteer Spikes contribute to that growth by recruiting new members, helping existing members realize the benefits of membership, and with membership renewal To celebrate and recognize our Spikes, we accompanied those who qualified to Music City, USA—Nashville, TN—in As 2019 draws to a close, it's the perfect time to touch on the year's highlights. We had a honky tonkin' time, including a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame, private entertainment by a finalist from "The Voice," and a backstage tour of the Grand Ole Opry! After the trip, a fun and festive array of October Membership Drive incentives kept our recruiters fired up Spikes were enticed with activities including cooking and winemaking classes, a concert at Jazz Alley, and dinner at Metropolitan Grill Not only that, our next incentive trip is to Jackson Hole, WY We are eager to see who will rise to the top and qualify to embark We want you there! Throughout the year, association leaders and staff work hard to improve the programs our members cite as the top reasons for joining and renewing year after year We are proud to offer compelling programs such as our Health Trust, GRIP workers' comp retro program, and a variety of networking opportunities We look forward to joining hands with you in 2020 and continuing to forge toward our vision of being the number one trusted and respected source for housing There is strength in numbers Together, we can do this!
