New Websites Ready to Launch I t is my pleasure to announce some significant upcoming changes to the MBAKS and Built Green websites. Our primary goal has been to create a user experience that is intuitive and works across all devices. We also want our sites to benefit our members in such a way that you will bookmark and use them as resources. Our sites are being developed to become a valuable membership benefit for you, which in turn reflects the pride we as a team take in our association. IT and Marketing staff will continue to improve each website based on member feedback, as well as our roadmap for continued improvements. BY RUSS VANOVER DIRECTOR OF IT MASTER BUILDERS ASSOCIATION We anticipate the refresh of the current MBAKS site and the brand new, completely redesigned Built Green site to launch by the second quarter of 2018. Here are some features we'll be rolling out: MBAKS.COM • Increased mobile functionality—the site now looks great on your mobile devices. We have a revamped responsive design to make it easier to navigate on smartphones and tablets. • A refreshed look. We have taken the comments of our members and design staff and incorporated them into a modern look for the site, including a new menu system and improved blog pages. • Added sitewide search and enhanced search functionality. We overhauled the membership directory to streamline search results and list more information about your business. New search categories and a simplified interface make searching more intuitive and informative for the end user (aka your customers and potential customers). • Improved calendar and events pages. The new look of these pages will help you find upcoming events and educational activities that you're interested in, faster and easier than before. BUILTGREEN.NET • An entirely new design from the ground up, complete with cinemagraphs (we can't wait to show you). • A new map featuring all Built Green® certified projects pinpointed in the Puget Sound area. • Integration of King County "Eco-Cool Remodel Tool," an interactive tool for consumers with suggestions on creating a more sustainable and green home. • New online processes for member input and faster certifications. As our launch dates draw near, we will alert you via email and social media. We hope you will stop by and examine the new features and offer up your opinions on ways we can continue to improve the sites for you. mbaks.com and builtgreen.net are the places to be in 2018 Our websites are being developed to become a valuable membership benefit for you, which in turn reflects the pride we as a team take in our association. 38 master builder SPRING 2018
