Membership Cost Update designated. We anticipate this funding plan to be implemented by April 1, 2018. The purpose of this Board action was to encourage the membership to support the AHC and its advocacy initiatives, which provide positive outcomes for the homebuilding industry. The AHC works to support and elect housing-friendly candidates for public oº ce. Predictable and consistent funding to the AHC ensures resources are available to advocate for our membership. All appropriate legal and public disclosure requirements have been vetted for this funding plan and appropriate disclosures will be included on applications and association renewal billings. No member will be given preferential treatment based on their designation and the total membership cost does not change based on your election to, or not to, contribute to the AHC. Contributions to a PAC are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. Should you have any questions, please contact Patrick Hayes, your director of membership and councils, at 425.460.8222. Thank you for your membership and continued support of the Master Builders Association. I n 2015, 2016, and 2018 the National Association of Home Builders raised their annual membership assessment to the MBAKS membership. The total NAHB increase for these three increases was $48.00 per member. The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties has not increased membership dues since 2003. Instead, our association absorbed two of the three NAHB increases, resulting in a cumulative revenue loss of approximately $225,000. On November 30, 2017, the MBAKS Board of Directors approved a membership dues increase of $50.00, to take eff ect January 2018 for new member applications and February 2018 for existing member renewal billings. On January 25, 2018, the board then approved and supported a funding plan that allows $50.00 of the membership cost to be directed to the Aff ordable Housing Council (AHC), the association's registered political action committee (PAC). As PAC contributions are voluntary, members may opt out, in which case the $50.00 will be appropriated to the General Fund.
