We employed familiarization laps for both intermediate and novice groups. Curt Smith and Leeds Gulick provided post-session instructor debrief to drivers. October 12th online event on Pacific Raceways: We will join to balance the tone with positive feedback and perspective in the region's motorsports and auto enthusiast community. We are negotiating final dates for 2021 DE calendar at Pacific, The Ridge and PIR. We expect 9 events in total including 2-day event at the Ridge, 2-day event at ORP and an event at Portland. October 25th at La Junta Raceway in Colorado is PCA national Lead-Follow training. We hope Paul Blake will attend. He will send someone else if he is not able to go. We will have two new instructor candidates. This will be our first-time using FM radios in wet weather. With DE dates for 2021 getting firmed we can start planning for 2021 dates. Hurley's 30-minute Zoom virtual conversation with Jay Gillotti in October. Tours – Greg Halverson – Present – Report Submitted Eric Breidenbach successfully led the three-day Olympic Peninsula tour with 26 cars and 49 participants. North Cascades tour very successful. Thanks to Curtis and Samantha Broderson for all their hard work. No tours currently planned for the rest of the year or until Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Old Business • PNWR Award Revision – We will be working on this for 2020. • Looking for a volunteer Communication Chair to manage email blast and texting. • Looking for volunteers for membership chair, advertising chair and tour chair assistant. • Working on event for our advertisers to thank them for their support. • Researching reserving a number of spots for new members to join tours. • Looking for Spiel Editor and Art Designer chairs for 2021. • Looking for Goodie Store assistant to hold/ship inventory and receive checks. • Nominations for our secretary board positions are needed. New Business • The scholarship interviews for LW Tech students were completed. Interviewed 8 candidates. Five students were awarded scholarships of $2,000 each.
