Traci Tenhulzen Tenhulzen Residential President Traci Tenhulzen has been dedicated to the Master Builders Association since she joined as an associate member almost 25 years ago. A successful entrepreneur, Traci was the owner of Safety Resource Management and Consulting LLC before joining Tenhulzen Remodeling with her husband Michael and becoming a builder member in 2007. Traci has served as chair of the Remodelers Council and in 2018 received the Remodelers Council Member of the Year Award before becoming a Certified Builder with BIAW in 2021. Other accolades include receiving the NAHB Safety Award for Excellence in 2009 and again in 2018 on behalf of Tenhulzen Residential, the INTRODUCING THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE Life Spike Award in 2016, the NAHB National Leadership Award in 2017, and the Exceptional Service Award in 2022. Having served as First Vice President last year, Traci has embraced her new role as MBAKS President, guided by her annual theme: "Root Connection—Together We Are Stronger." The key to the long-term health of MBAKS, she says, is revitalizing what worked in the past. "We must strive to keep the roots of our association healthy," Traci explains. "Together, we must value membership, elevate the homebuilding industry's image, identify and work with jurisdictions supportive of first-time homeowners to encourage generational growth, and embrace financial stewardship by creating a cooperative environment focused on the association's success." Traci seeks to promote unifying campaigns that "tell the housing story from the perspective of homebuilders and remodelers and engage political and regulatory institutions on their behalf… while also building coalitions and communication tools to demonstrate with facts and data the challenges facing current and future homeowners underrepresented in this discussion." Traci is looking at more than just the year ahead. "One of my goals is implementing a five-year strategic plan so our initiatives will live beyond the short tenure of the 2023 board. Builders' needs should be our top priority. Not just this year, but always." Together we must value membership, elevate the homebuilding industry's image, identify and work with jurisdictions supportive of first-time homeowners to encourage generational growth, and embrace financial stewardship by creating a cooperative environment focused on the association's success.
