From the editor Barb Coplen PNWR offers a wide variety of activities that span a broad range of interests. If you have been focusing on only one type of event, I suggest you expand your horizons and change it up a bit. Every type of event can offer you a fun, new experience and the opportunity to meet new club members. Participating in concours requires a very precise, detail focus on the presentation of your vehicle. It involves getting to know every inch of your car intimately. It provides you with the opportunity to closely examine and prepare your cars components, allowing you to keep your Porsche in like-new condition. The hours you spend assessing, prepping, adjusting, cleaning and shining are not just for a trophy. If you bought your car new, you will be able to bring it back up to that mint condition. If you purchased your car used, you will get to find all those nooks and crannies that are missed with a general washing. Remember it is easier to notice a problem or leak if you know what a pristine and clean car looks like. Plus your mechanic will love you for it. With driving events, you get to know how your car handles and reacts. Everything from a Sunday drive to an emergency braking procedure to avoid the kid down the street when he runs into the street after his soccer ball. Knowing where the limits of your car helps you in your day-to-day driving. How to setup a corner to get absolutely the most out of your cars performance will help you stay safe and avoid trouble. As with concours, it is so much easier to know when your car isnt handling correctly, if you know what it is supposed to handle like. My advice is to get out there and try something new and different. Then you can talk about all the adventures youve had in the club with your new friends. And speaking of friends, our friends in the 356 Registry are having a big event in honor of their 25th Anniversary. Theyve taken the 356 Bull Session and expanded it to a full weedend, Sept 16-18, and added a Social events will give some time to relax tour, tech sessions, banquet, etc. They asked and discuss your favorite topic...Porsches. us to help get the word out. More details on Making new friends and catching up with old the web at 25thbullsession.weebly.com and ones is one of my favorite pastimes. Ive made www.356groupnw.org. many good friends in the club and I look forward to making many more. Our membership is varied and vast.
