13 scale, with cars ranging from a Porsche 918 to a KTM X-Bow, surrounded by thousands of spectators in the rally's hometown. Once we rolled across the starting line in Covent Garden with David Haselhoff waving the start flag, the rally was a whirlwind of 10-12 hour days behind the wheel. There are checkpoints for lunch and overnight, but everything else was up to us. Luckily, Gumballers were happy to share the best routings, and groups quickly formed with like-minded driving styles. On the European leg, we navigated through England, France, Switzerland, and Italy, driving some of the most incredible roads. At the checkpoints, fans would flock to the cars, at times in the hundreds, taking photos and looking to collect swag from each of the teams. Flying the cars to Japan was part of the rally's allure with four planes transporting the people and cars overnight from Milan to Osaka. The next day, we arrived to pick up our cars, released one at a time by Japanese customs. After a day-long delay, we got behind the wheel for a caffeine- fueled, overnight drive to meet with the rest of the rally. Avoiding the daytime traffic, we got some of the most incredible driving up the coastline accompanied by a beautiful Japanese sunrise and an impromptu drive with a Gumball fan heading to see the rally in a yellow 993 RS Clubsport.
