For us, the Gumball 3000 Rally is the epitome of those two passions, and we got to cross it off our bucket list with two back-to-back rallies: from London to Tokyo and from Myknonos to Ibiza. For over 20 years, Gumball has assembled 100+ unique cars for a 3000- mile, 7 day journey with new and unexpected destinations every year. Growing up in an automotive family, Jon's parents did the Gumball in 2002 from New York to LA when it was relatively unknown, and then Jon did the rally himself in 2008 and 2009, including its 10th anniversary from San Francisco to Miami. I'd heard stories of the rally over the years, but we had never done anything of this scale together. When Gumball announced its 20th anniversary would go from London to Tokyo in 2018, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to create an unforgettable experience and be a part of Gumball history. Getting ready for the rally was no small affair, and the most important decision was what to drive. We didn't have a suitable rally car and wanted the memories of driving our own car around the world. Fortunately, Jon's dad had a Jet Black Metallic 2014 Turbo S that he was willing sell to us, continuing the Gumball family tradition. The Turbo S is a nearly perfect rally car in stock form, but we made a few simple modifications to get it rally-ready.
