to inspect the car. The last two or three days it
was on display, the organizers had the rear wheels
up on ramps and a large mirror on the floor so all
visitors could inspect the underside of the engine
compartment. I was especially intrigued by the
wheels and tires. The wheels were Fuchs Alloys
and the tires were Michelin XWX 185/70 VR 15
which are still being made by Michelin and I was
told now cost $450 each. This 1973 was one of the
last 911T models that had mechanical fuel injection
and had the yellow cooling air shroud from the
blower down over the cylinders and heads before
everything went to CIS.
Future Parades
After a mid-western and eastern Parade, the
2012 Parade is scheduled to be in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is only
about 822 miles from Seattle, so PNWR should have a much higher
representation than we had in Savannah. Normally, the Parade
organizers announce Parade locations two years ahead, but this
year in Savannah, all they would say is that they have a 2013 location selected, but did not want to announce it just yet until all the
arrangements were finalized.
