Driver Skills Robert Durff: Not Present - Report Submitted There was no September Drivers Skills this year. Our next event, on October 15th is sold out with a significant waitlist. Our final event of the year on October 30h is very nearly sold out as well. Our instructor situation is looking better for these two events than our summer events. We still need a few more for October 15th, but Im confident well get there. Jeff Nord has been putting a lot of thought and energy into developing new instructors for Driver Skills. We have a small group of experienced DE drivers and Skills volunteers whom Jeff and the other Drivers Skills instructors will be training as this year closes and 2012 opens. Spiel Editor - Barb Coplen: Present - Report Submitted Sent a note off to Curt Smith who expressed an interest in working with Barb on the Spiel and havent heard back. He wants to understand from a practical point what being the editor entails. Goodie Store - Ted and Kathy Vander Hoek Present Report Submitted Instructor shirts have been received and dispersed. Membership Jay Gillotti Present - Report Submitted There are 8 new members listed in the November Spiel. Jay is planning to continue the color of choice analysis for the new members. Duncan is planning on putting together an indoor event for February. Details will be in the January Spiel. Technical Education - Bill Rogers: Present - Report Submitted There was a Tech Session at MAXRPM last Saturday on October 1st . On October 29th there will be an open house for VRI in Bellingham at WWU. They are still working on the parking situation. On November 19th there will be a tech session in Bellevue at a place that installs hidden radar detectors. The event at MAXRPM was very good. They offered a great deal of insight on tuning cars run by computers. It takes several sets to determine the correct turner and type of turning. There was one cabinet worth $80,000. Any car will do better with a performance tuning. Tours Miller Adams & Eric B. Kent: Present - Report Submitted Escape was a lot of fun. There were 234 cars registered with 4 from our region. It took Place in Flagstaff, Arizona and included great tours, beautiful scenery and wonderful museum visits, etc. Our next Cayenne tour: Chrystal Mountain has said they would set aside Cat tracks for the Cayenne Tour next year.
