Sun Mountain, September 16/17/18 (Eric Kent Tour Leader) This Tour was well attended with no incidents reported. (23 cars 45 people). Tour 8 Cannon Beach Oct 8/9/10 (Duane and Dawn Schindler Tour Leaders) There are 26 to 30 cars with 47 people. The planning for this Tour has been excellent with a new route identified for a portion of the Saturday drive. (Lunch will still take place in Clatskanie, OR). An alternative route may be offered after lunch for those seeking a more direct drive through Astoria to Cannon Beach. Contact has been made with the Tillamook Cheese Factory regarding the Sunday breakfast and information will be made available regarding other attractions for side trips on Sunday. Plans are in place for the group dinner on Sunday evening. This is the first Tour where the registration process was set up using MotorsportReg.com. We will evaluate this capability as part of the de-brief on the Tour. It is our expectation that we will use on-line registration for all Tours in 2012, and will be able to obtain credit card payments. Waiting to hear from Ridge Motorsports. New Business Old Business Richard Adler had planned on coming to give us the information on the Brain Injury Association of Washington (BIAWA) and what their focus is at this time. A paid case manager is working with youngsters coming out of hospitals with traumatic brain injuries. Forty percent (40 %) of brain injuries are auto related. They are working with a youngster now that has a brain injury from a serious auto accident. Focused on a number of issues in the schools. Support national adoption of the law. Their big fundraiser and gala is 10/15. Our target donation this year was $5000. We are still committed to sponsoring charities with focus on local concerns. Eric moved that we make the contribution in October to BIAWA. Larry 2nd. Voted and carried. The planning meeting for this year is on December 3rd from 9am - 12N. We have determined the 2012 Board Meeting dates. We will reserve the Planning Meeting and 2012 Board Meeting dates with the Mercer Island Community Center to take advantage of current rates.
